She's Still Here!

I woke up this morning and quickly rolled over to see Lily. Wheeew! I thought I was dreaming and when I woke up, she wouldn't be there. She cood and made her cute little grunts, letting me know she was not a figment of my imagination.

Yesterday was a tough day for this 4 day old. Her inexperienced mom and dad gave her her first sponge bath. Saying she didn't care for it would be an understatement.

We took her in for her follow-up doctor's appointment yesterday, too. That cold stethoscope was NOT very nice!

The Dr. was an amazing man. So kind and sweet and best of all, he released us to fly home as soon as possible. He said the sooner the better since this whole "Swine Flu" thing is getting worse and worse by the day. We now are only waiting for the paperwork (Interstate Compact) between Indiana and California. Once that is completed, we can blow this joint! Not that we don't love you, California, it is just that Lily has some very special admirers back home who can't wait to get their paws on her :)

Lily was a little dream baby again last night, giving her mom and dad long stretches of wonderful sleep. She is really easing us into this parenthood thing.

Yay! That's great news! There's no place like home :) And she sounds like a complete dream baby!

I really hope the paperwork comes through soon, but if you're around my area (now I potentially understand that tweet if it was meant for me and not thx Portuguese person!)....let me know if you'd like to try to meet, I'd love to be able to say hello! Otherwise please let me know your address, I'd love to send you a little something :)

Wow...it is a dream come true! The first few days and weeks are the hardest for baby, as well as Mom and Dad. I'm impressed that Miss Lily is allowing you any sleep at all!! People from all around the Hoosier state will be welcoming you home soon. Take care, Kelly

YAHOO! I am so excited to hear your news about flying back to Indiana! Yippee for you three! If you need any flying suggestions for flying with a baby, I have had some experience:)

Ohh this takes me back to the first baths for both of my babies. Brenna was a little angel and never wimpered, just looked around and took it all in. (Thankfully, because we had no freaking clue what we were doing!!) Brayden, on the other hand screamed the entire time and was beet red all over his entire body before we finished! I love that we can share these experiences now!!

Brook, Congratulations! I sent an e-mail to your work address saying send pictures (you can ignore that now) and Aldona called and told us about your blog. Lily is adorable! Thanks for sharing the pictures. Much happiness to the 3 of you and if you manage to find your way up north, be sure to stop in.

You all are so mean! Making that precious little baby so upset. I would never treat her that way!

Both kids and parents survive and learn from the inexperienced parent thing in the first few days. You're doing great!!

Thanks for keeping us posted. I can't believe the wonderful pictures you are taking! When we get our baby, you're going to have to come live with us for month and do nothing but take pictures!!

We can't wait to see you guys.
