Just a little push

This photo is from a week ago but I finally got around to uploading it. This was Lily's first time on a swing set. How fun that she got to swing with daddy, her buddy Henry and his daddy, Steve? We can hardly wait for the day that all of out adoption friends have brought home their children and we can fill the swings at the park.

Yeah but Heather and Phillipe and Rachel are gonna make them have to take turns swinging!

The score is even, two boys, two girls...
What will the next ones be?

Given that I don't live very far from where you are, I'm wondering...how have you found all of these "adoption friends?" I have had THE hardest time finding other waiting couples or new adoptive parents. It's been really surprising to me, given the size of this city. And my agency is not good about connecting people, so no luck there.

Btw, we had our second failed adoption of the year in July. After the birth this time...

Kendra,

I am so sorry to hear of your failed adoptions. We experienced failed matches and they were heartbreaking for us. I can only imagine how hard it was if it happened after the birth. I'm so sorry.

As for our little adoption group, ours is completely informal and not really a part of our agency except for the fact that we all belong to the same one. Our agency does not let us know the names or email addresses of other clients either, for privacy reasons. What happened was someone got the idea to type up an email asking if anyone in the area wanted to meet up and our agency emailed it out to the people in the local area. I bet your agency would be willing to do this, too. Another thing to check out is the indymoms discussion board for adoptive moms http://indianapolis.momslikeme.com/members/groupabout.aspx?g=552633 . I know that is where I read a lot about the different agencies and what eventually led me to ours (IAC). You could see if others on there would like to meet up.

Best of luck to you. If you ever want to talk, please email me at
