Well, it seems as though I picked a bad time to start my blog. We are in the process of moving to southern Indiana (I don't actually move until May 17th but Corey is already living there most of the time). We are tying up loose ends around here - cancelling the gym memberships, forwarding mail, and most painfully, losing out internet connection. Just this past fall, we joined the ranks of modern society when we purchased our Wild Blue satellite internet service. Faced with paying out the remainder of our year long contract, we pawned the system off on a dial up afflicted friend. Only catch was, we had to fork it over right away. Now I am faced with a full month without a home connection.
I've already started the long, tedious process of sorting things and packing boxes. This part is just no fun at all. Anyway, I hope to be back to blogging soon.

Rehab
Can I tell you how much I'm loving this song right now? I heard a tiny snippet of it on NPR a month ago and was hooked. Of course, I have nothing against substance abuse programs. Just can't get this song out of my head! Is there rehab for that?

Happy Easter
I love Easter. Not being a religious person, some may question what I'm celebrating on this holiday. To me, Easter isn't as much about religion as it signifies that winter is over and spring is finally here (I must admit that it is a little tougher to feel that way today, with 3 inches of snow on the ground).
Easter always reminds me of sweet, sugary confections and fuzzy baby animals.
Egg hunts and frilly dresses.
New beginnings and new outlooks.
To me, that's plenty of reason for celebration.

Tasty Hedgehogs
I made these yesterday. I was looking for a way to use up some dates I bought through the co-op. I adore dates but these particular ones were kind of dry and not as delish as usual. The cookies were exactly what I was looking for... chewy...sweet...nutty...goodness. No flour whatsoever. Just dates, walnuts, coconut, eggs and brown sugar. Yum.
Now that's recycling
CapriSun juice pouch purses are my new thing. I saw a girl at the mall with one and decided I had to have one. I sewed one up and soon, I was hooked. They are super fun to make and I've even improved on the design a bit to make the thing more "purse-like". Most importantly, I added a zipper - who wants their important girlie stuff tumbling out and on to the floor? Hello.
Everywhere I go people comment on my goofy bag. Typically it is "Oh my gosh! Is that really a purse?" I've had quite a few offers to buy them so I've even started carrying one in the car just in case someone gives me an offer I can't refuse. I just opened an Etsy shop too! Fun!

Here is me.
Here is me... officially entering the blogosphere! How very exciting and just a little daunting. Does anyone really care about a vegetarian with a penchant for fake corn dogs? Will anyone find my misadventures in crafting entertaining? We shall see!
First official movie critique: Blades of Glory
The hubby and I went to see this tonight. We allow ourselves 2 "date nights" per month per our self inflicted budget. This movie was definitely worthy of one of our precious outings. In my opinion, Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are just the coolest. I could probably watch them clean a toilet bowl and laugh my head off. During one particular skating routine Corey and I were laughing so hard we shed a few tears. 2 thumbs up!
